ABOUT
I’m a journalist pursuing a career reporting on housing and urban development.
When I first began my degree, I wanted to specifically cover the arts and culture. My first year was spent reporting on race, music and business on campus and in the Athens area for the student newspaper, The Red & Black. As a junior, I covered local news and politics in my classes and the student paper. During my time with The Red & Black, I’ve served as a contributor, desk editor’s assistant and calendar editor. These roles have tested my ability to pitch ideas, conduct interviews, write and thoroughly fact-check all under strict deadlines. I covered racial justice and city news as a staff writer my spring semester.
As a rising senior, I was selected for a summer internship with the local newspaper, The Athens Banner-Herald.
I’m also a member of diGamma Kappa Broadcast Society, the first chapter of this national organization dedicated to prepping successful careers in the world of journalism, as well as UGA’s chapter of Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society, designed for collegiate history scholars.
